Many of the nail problems we have are caused by a deficiency in our diet. Check out this set of most common nail problems along with what they reflect about your diet.

  • Hang nails are caused by lack of proteins, folic acid and vitamin C intake.

  • White bands in the nails are caused by protein deficiency

  • White spots on the nails could be the result of insufficient zinc

  • Cuts and cracks in the nails could mean there you are consuming an inadequate amount of liquids.

  • Red skin around the cuticles can be caused by poor absorption of essential fatty acids.

  • Dark or pale nails could be a sign of anemia or iron deficiency.

  • Get a good intake a high quaility proteins to avoid hang nails and white bands.

  • Drink plenty of water and carrot juice which is high in phosphorous and will make your nails stronger.

  • Supplement your diet with royal jelly or kelp that are high in silica, zinc and some B vitamins
